Took payment out of my account when they wanted to which caused mortgage to bounce. Two months later as a matter of fact. They told me they had right to do so if they failed (negligence) to do so according to their protocol. Their incompetence caused me money with no apology just sarcasm. I'm pissed!!!!! Worse costumer service for such a known company!! THE WORSE!!! Add comment

Ackerman's sales person, in matching a proposal from a different company I was considering, flat out lied to me. It took me awhile to realize this as the installers came out without all the promised equipment. My neighbor recommended them so I went with them. They have me locked in with a 3-year contract. I just signed with them in November and have had to call twice. When they came out, they said it would cost me $89/hr to repair and that I need a new monitor which would cost $120. Let me begin by saying I am a former owner of a Electronics Integration company in St. Louis prior to moving to Atlanta. They quoted me $18.99 for monitoring twice. When the guy comes out, he tells me it will actually be $28.99 mthly. Then, he used bait & switch tactic by telling me I had to pay for all this equipment, I already had. This company is dishonest. Read more

Ackerman security is the worst. The basic monitoring phone call response takes more than 17 minutes. If any of your equipment fails there is a service call which costs $89 for the first hour and $69 for each half hour after which they don't telk you about. The techs take their time and run up a bill. One sensor replacement was $195 plus the 4 hours to fix it! $804. Add comment

Decided to switch from adt to ackerman. Was told 18 dollars a month No contract. They would call me monthly if I wanted to continue service. Ended up moving out after aprox 6 months. They are telling me I signed a 3 year contract. From mid 2012 to mid 2015. They now tell me that they will cancel it if I paid for all of 1 year. Still being billed and a higher rate. Ackermann security fools their customers by quoting a low price for the monthly service then when you need other kinds of support they charge you through the nose. For example I lost the magnet on one of my windows which basically means I cannot activate my security system unless I use the main control panel and turn off that one window that doesn't work. Falsified the document / withdrew funds from the bank without authorization. A business is good as people who are running it. TWO YEARS AGO I REMOVED MY HOME PHONE AND CALLED TO CANCEL. THE ACKERMAN REP SAID "NO - DON'T CANCEL BECAUSE WE'LL HAVE TO CALL AND REPORT TO HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE THAT YOU ARE NOT MONITORED".
