I was mischarged by Ackerman during the transition to ADT. My home phone # was not correctly transferred, which resulted in my not being contacted when the false alarm occurred and police being mistakenly sent to my house. Now I'm being asked to pay $150 for Ackerman's mistake. This is crazy

User's recommendation: Find another security company! Ackerman tried to charge me $150 in false alarm bills when they failed to correctly transfer my home number to ADT during their purchase of Ackerman. Also, there is no answer at Ackerman's customer support number on their website and emails are bounced back from their listed email address.

I requested a transfer feb 2 2021 and have signed documents from the company for the transfer but yet no technician had been sent or phone calls have been received on my service I waited patiently

After waiting I have made several attempts since feb 2 2021 and have got nothing but promised phone calls from a loyalty department no calls or emails were ever returned

So today I called once again still waiting patiently a whole year and some months todays date april 25 2022

I finally spoke to a manager and he stated I had only called once !!!!??? In January which is a lie !!!

Also stated I would only be reimbursed for 4 months since the beginning of 2022 also stating they sent me a cancellation letter that I was never aware of because I was transferring service not canceling but yet my service hasnt worked in over a year plus he stated they were figuring it out and would get back to me today no one has reached back to me

Hello my name is Michael Chavez Ive tried multiple times to cancel my account for service that hasnt worked in over a year Ive called multiple times and have been told youd be reaching out to me and have yet to receive any calls or emails this really concerns me this is my final attempt to reach out to you guys I have paper tails emails charges dates on phone calls etc Im giving you one last opportunity to help me out and get this right or I will be taking further legal action thank you my best regards

They make it nearly impossible to pay your bill, without having to mail them a check. Poor billing practices. Over priced.

Technicians do not have the competencies to address issues, supervisor provided inaccurate information, awful customer service blatant disregard for customers time, comfort and safety

Ackerman contacted me twice to schedule a mandatory upgrade and both times called the day of the upgrade to indicate they did not have the equipment (I blocked off 4 hours in the middle of the day twice). On the third occasion the Technician completed the upgrade and immediately after he left my system started beeping.

While on the phone with Ackerman, the police came to my house indicating that a distress signal had been received. After being on hold for nearly an hour they call just dropped. I had to figure out how to power down the system after the video they sent me was of no use. They then schedule me for over a week later to fix, I demanded they come out immediately so they came back out two days later.

That technician indicated the previous Technician had removed the T10 unit so there was a communications error that he had fixed and the low battery beeping would stop shortly, he also indicated that the previous Tech had changed the distress code to my code, so each time I attempted to deactivate the system to stop the beeping it was sending a distress code. Well, after the second Tech left the beeping continued and I once again had to call and request assistance and explain once again (guess they don't keep customer notes), power down the system (from basement and control pad). A third Technician came out and assured the issue had been resolved by him removing the landland link and the beep was just a low battery and would stop once the battery is charged (I requested they bring a battery so no beep would occur prior to them leaving) that lied and stated all batteries are dead until charged by system. I know that is a lye because I HAD to purchase that battery from Batteries Plus because Ackerman does not supply them and when installed it immediately stopped the beeping.

Well the beeping continued and I was up all night hitting status to get it to go off. I called Ackerman and they just indicated we'll get back with you.

Still havent heard from this. I will be cancelling this service today to many other companies out there to contend with this fiasco!

They keep billing me even though I canceled months ago

This was a good company until ADT acquired them. That is why I canceled in the first place. Long hold times now, not exactly what you want when you call your security company. Prior to ADT'S acquisition, there was good customer service. Avoid them. I switched to Simpli Safe and have been very pleased with them.

This company is horrible! I sold my house and tried to cancel my services, but they told me that I was still under contract and I would have to pay $500. I ask is there anything they could do so that I would not be charged the $500, and they said the new homeowners would have to get service in their name. Furthermore, I talked to the new homeowner and this turned them off, and they went with ADT. Now I am stuck with paying $500!!! Really???

Unacceptable service

I have been a customer for many years and your customer service is terrible. In one instance your phone tech failed to tell me that I should not use a particular brand of batteries for a glass-break sensor, but the tech who came out did tell me and remarked that your phone people do not know what they are doing. In the last few days, I have had a bad sensor in a garage window. We did not hear any alarm, but received a call at about 2 a.m. and when my wife answered there was no one on the line and she hung up. Consequently, the police were called and we were charged $25 for the false report. The bad sensor issue continued and I called your company to complain that the sensor needed replacement and to stop the notices. I was assured that would happen, but the notices continued and when I called to determine when the repair would be made was told there was no entry for that service on my account. The person I spoke to assured she would order the repair. After continuing to receive notices of the bad sensor, I called again and was told that there was no notice in my acccount for the second time of any repair! Two nights ago we were alerted to the bad sensor again with a loud noise about midnight. I turned off the alarm and called your office and spoke to a supervisor who tried to walk me thru an override without success. She didn't seem to know what she was doing and promised to send me directions to my email. Not only did I not receive those directions, but the alarm also sounded again at about 2 a.m. I again turned off the alarm and am about to cancel your service. I have had no contact from repair and don't understand why earlier a supervisor did not tell me about overriding the sensor. One other problem, when my wife called your office after receiving a notice of the offending sensor, she was given an automatic response and a number to call. She did and the number did not work! I would not recommend your company and unless this issue is resolved in the next few days, I will cancel your service.

I was charged a fee for $155.00on my credit card on 10/30 and the job was not done I am please requesting a refund on my credit card please.. Nancy Rufino 4163 panola road Lithonia ga 30038 I was very pleased with your service for the time that I was there but I got sick so I had to moved I had multiples strokes (5) to be more expecify, but I enjoy very muck!!!!!

Disgusting customer service

I have been an Ackerman customer for 20+ years and I am disgusted, totally disgusted, with the lack of customer service I have received. I have called, I have sent emails and I have been totally ignored. I am looking for a senior management person to personally call me to discuss the disgusting, dismissive and absolutely horrific customer service I have received from Ackerman security. I have the names of every single board member of Ackerman security and I am more than willing to personally reach out to each and everyone of them to let them know what a disgusting company they are attached to. I have been attempting to get someone to talk to me for months now with no satisfaction not a single person has reached out to me or responded to my request for a conversation after many many attempts.
