Ackermann security fools their customers by quoting a low price for the monthly service then when you need other kinds of support they charge you through the nose. For example I lost the magnet on one of my windows which basically means I cannot activate my security system unless I use the main control panel and turn off that one window that doesn't work. Falsified the document / withdrew funds from the bank without authorization. A business is good as people who are running it. TWO YEARS AGO I REMOVED MY HOME PHONE AND CALLED TO CANCEL. THE ACKERMAN REP SAID "NO - DON'T CANCEL BECAUSE WE'LL HAVE TO CALL AND REPORT TO HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE THAT YOU ARE NOT MONITORED". I have been with Ackerman for over 5 years. Recently, we had a problem with the Alarm pad sticking. When I asked for Tech Support I was told it would cost 90.00 Dollars just to have someone look at it. and then any additional cost for repairs! When I questioned customer service they doubled down on this policy. In addition, after our alarm went off by mistake we never did get a phone call back... Read more

Two customers recommended this company so I did not do any research on line. I was not able to get a satisfactory land line telephone service so after a couple of months, I called to cancel the Ackerman service. I called Ackerman because I was changing apartments in the same complex. I was quoted three different fees for transferring the service. It started at $400 and went down to $150.00. wish I had read these reviews before signing up for Ackerman security. There customer service is so poor I though I was speaking with a cable provider company. The service person complained they the 2 wireless devices he tried to connect to my router were pieces of *** and after 2 visits " amended" my contract to revise the price after being told I did not want the service without the wireless... Believe it not .... the ackerman is not even receiving the alarm signal. The alarm came on at home while we were out of home for a few days. We came back home hearing the alarm, rushed in, nervous, etc. When we called the company they said they didn't even receive the signal !?!
