I have been with Ackerman for over 5 years. Recently, we had a problem with the Alarm pad sticking. When I asked for Tech Support I was told it would cost 90.00 Dollars just to have someone look at it. and then any additional cost for repairs! When I questioned customer service they doubled down on this policy. In addition, after our alarm went off by mistake we never did get a phone call back... Read more

Two customers recommended this company so I did not do any research on line. I was not able to get a satisfactory land line telephone service so after a couple of months, I called to cancel the Ackerman service. I called Ackerman because I was changing apartments in the same complex. I was quoted three different fees for transferring the service. It started at $400 and went down to $150.00. It took an entire week before I was able to speak with a Supervisor and a Sales Manager. The sales manager explained to me that he was trying to help me out by giving the transfer fee of $150. wish I had read these reviews before signing up for Ackerman security. There customer service is so poor I though I was speaking with a cable provider company. The service person complained they the 2 wireless devices he tried to connect to my router were pieces of *** and after 2 visits " amended" my contract to revise the price after being told I did not want the service without the wireless... Believe it not .... the ackerman is not even receiving the alarm signal. The alarm came on at home while we were out of home for a few days. We came back home hearing the alarm, rushed in, nervous, etc. When we called the company they said they didn't even receive the signal !?! Wow. I should have read more on Ackerman. I live in Atlanta. My system was already in use at my house, with a local monitoring firm. I had Ackerman come in and audit my system. I added cameras to the system. The service tech left my home, and I started having problems. I had to get him to come back out, several days later. Worst sales rep ever. Don't let Mr. Searles sell you anything. Originally this company came highly recommended but they have done nothing but disappoint. Monthly monitoring is charged automatically to my Visa. May 31 two charges were posted - one for the correct amount, another for $5 more. Otherwise the two entries were alike - samd name, same date. Ackerman (3 different people) says they show only the correct one was charged and since they don't show the $23.95 in error they can not correct it! Do they believe Visa makes this up? They gave...
